This past week, I took the time to play with my mini netbook. I was having a problem connecting to the internet with the Windows CE OS. I did a complete re-install and even installed different bug fixes, but after several hours, I still got: Page cannot be displayed.
The wireless said that it was connected, but no matter what URL I used, the “page could not be displayed.”
So, I scrambled over the internet and happened upon this youtube video:
Not to mention this video as well:
And then I found
both sites suggested that I go to:
and download the android-ARM-8505-Smartbook zip file
so I did!
At first boot, my screen was dark. No sign of life. I thought…uh oh.
then I tried it again. And it worked. I was able to get webpages, cruise the internet, find stuff, it was amazing!
so then I decided that I wanted MORE! I found this other website that allows freeware of android apps:
First, I had to download the Apps Installer so that I could download other apps.
But, nothing happened.
I found out that the SD card that I downloaded the version of Android on had to be re-formatted to FAT32 and placed into the card reader of the mini notebook, reboot the computer so that it sees the card, and then download the APP Installer. The SD card must be in the notebook all the time. Now, I do get some errors when I try to download a few apps, but I guess I didn’t really need those anyway!
After that—smooth sailing…I have so many apps now, I am just loving it!
